Helen Keller was an American author, disability rights advocate, political activist and lecturer born on June 27, 1880 — in West Tuscumbia, Alabama. At a younger age, she sadly lost her sight and hearing due to some rare kind of sickness. She died on June 1, 1968, at the age of aged 87.
