Fight To Stand On The Word

“In these last days he has spoken to us by his Son…” (Hebrews 1:2 ESV)
When God speaks by His Son, it’s not optional. His word is final, complete, and sufficient — and it calls for our full trust and obedience.
But standing on the Word of God is never easy. Throughout history, the Bible has been under pressure — from both outside the church and from within it. False teaching, moral compromise, cultural drift, spiritual apathy. Over and over again, the same old question gets whispered: “Did God really say?”
In every generation, there’s the temptation to add to God’s Word or take away from it. To let tradition sit above Scripture. To let reason explain away the supernatural. To let experience define what is true.
But Hebrews 1 is clear: God has spoken by His Son. And His Word stands above every other voice.
That means we don’t get to redefine what God has already revealed. We don’t get to elevate our feelings, traditions, or ideas above the final Word of Christ.
If Scripture says it, we trust it. If Jesus commands it, we obey it.
The cost of standing on the Word might be high. It may cost friendships, comfort, or approval. But the cost of compromising is higher. When we step away from the foundation of God’s Word, we step away from the voice of the One who upholds the universe by the word of His power.
So don’t drift. Don’t dilute. Don’t defer to other voices. Be the kind of person who brings every new idea, every cultural pressure, and every personal conviction back to the Bible.
God has spoken. And His Word is worth standing on.

Where are you tempted to compromise on Scripture? What voices are pulling you away from confidence in God’s Word? Ask the Spirit to give you conviction, courage, and clarity — to be someone who stands firm, even when it’s costly.
