25 Scriptures to Encourage the Weary Mom

I’ve been a weary mom before, for very long seasons that seemed to drag out before my eyes.  My little ones did not sleep through the night.  My young ones did not want to obey.  My pre-teens knew everything, and I was just mom.

Yeah, weariness stinks, and in the midst of those moments it feels like everyone else has everything together, and everyone else’s baby sleeps through the night…and everyone else’s pre-teen listens wonderfully, and on and on it goes.

Sweet sister, I am here to tell you that 1) you are not alone, and 2) everyone else struggles exactly the same way as you.  We just live in a plastic world with fake-amedia land leading the way for psychological reconditioning.

Normal isn’t normally shared anymore.

But, YOU, dear one, are right where our Abba has you for such a time as this.  He is weaving together a masterful tapestry full of beautiful strings, carefully tied together in the background of the fabric, unseen and unnoticed from the front where the beauty unfolds.

He sees you.  He hears you.  He is with you, and He is not going anywhere.

Not only are you going to get through this if you stand in the fact that God is bigger than your situation, but you will be blessed in the midst of this trial.

He has great purpose for our seasons of trial.

Yahweh loves you so very, very much.  It does not mean that tragedy and trials will not come, but it does mean that in the midst of the battles you can stand firm in the knowledge of that love.  To stand firm means to remember unceasingly that you are a child of the Living God, the Almighty One, Creator of the Universe, who is in control of things, even when the enemy thinks he has taken over.  He hasn’t.  No matter what kind of crap the enemy wants to throw your way, our Abba is big enough to overcome.

Trust Him.  Lean into His ever-loving arms.  He is with you, always.

It is okay to cry if you need to.  It is okay to yell into a pillow and scream for the trials pains.  Feelings are okay to have and experience.  They let us know that there is a battle waging.  But, sweet sister, don’t stop there.

Don’t let the feelings be the place where you land, but rather let them be the tools that are used to loosen the soil of your heart and cry out for our Abba to remove the stones and pour in seeds of His glory.  Plant yourself firmly on the Rock of Truth saying “I will get through this, because God has got this.  I may not know how He is going to come through, but I trust that He is, because He says that He will.  Period.”

And then watch to see the mighty work He does in your life.  Expectantly wait in the confidence of His provision for His children.

Stand Firm in Him And Reap the Blessings

Sweet Sister, I know that the days an be incredibly long and hard.  Life is full of overwhelming seasons: children act up and act out, husbands struggle, homes have issues, relationships fall apart, possessions break, and careers shift.  But, take heart, beloved sister of the Father of Love, He has you.

He will not let you fall.

No matter how deep this valley may get, you are not alone.  No matter how dark the journey feels, the Light is with you and in you.

Plant your heart firmly in His Word, even when it feels chaotic and confusing.  Choose that you will trust in Him, even when the way seems like a roller coaster of loss.  Decide that you will believe He is who He proclaims Himself to be, even when the world and the enemy shout lies against Him.  Commit to never turning away from Him when things are not going the way you want.

Dive headlong into His Word.  Let it wash over you like a cool and cleansing bath on a hot summer day.

Cry out to Him in truth, no matter how difficult the feelings may be.  He can handle it.

Pray for wise counsel from good friends who are rooted in the Word of Truth.  Continue to connect with those who offer support and love in this time of need.

I know that life is hard, but this is the path that He has established as best for His children.  He knows what He is working to create in you.  Trust Him, and continue with Him step-by-step as He leads.

Shalom.
