Herod was furious when he realized that the wise men had outwitted him. He sent soldiers to kill all the boys in and around Bethlehem who were two years old and under, based on the wise men’s report of the star’s first appearance.

-Mathew 2:16, NLT

I was told my seminary degree was worthless by a cheater apologist. His prescription to me was to abandon my calling and work in the backroom as a blue collar worker.

He was wrong, and he was being used by Satan to attempt to abort my ministry before I even got started.

Sadly, I nearly gave up myself. It was really dark days during that time of abandonment and infidelity discovery. The economy stunk, and I was struggling.

Thankfully, I did not give up.

I found a Clinical Pastoral Education (CPE) program, and I completed the internship while my ex was cheating on me. From that experience, I knew my calling was to clinical chaplaincy. Miraculously, I found a year Chaplain CPE residency program in late summer that started the next month in September in my home state!

After that residency, I successfully completed my board and became a Board Certified Chaplain (BCC). I am proud of this credential.

It says that I have met the highest standards of proficiency in my chosen profession. Today marks ten years of holding this credential. It testifies to my hard work as well as God opening key doors for me when I desperately needed them.

Today, I get to apply these skills in helping others–especially here at Divorce Minister.

I am glad I did not give up on my calling.
