A Message From God Concerning His Love For You

I have a message from God in my heart concerning the sinfulness of the wicked: There is no fear of God before their eyes. Psalm 36:1

God has a message of love for those who want to hear it. The Psalmist began this Psalm by directing His first message to those who don’t want to hear it. He directed it to the wicked.

People today have created some interesting oxymorons using the word wicked. I’ve heard phrases like wicked angel, wicked innocent, wicked sweet, and wicked good.

When the Bible refers to the word wicked it does so with no grey areas. If a person doesn’t live a righteous life, then they live a wicked one. We tend to define levels of wickedness in people.

But when we stand before God, He only sees your life as one of wickedness or righteousness. Some people think if their good deeds outweigh their bad ones, God will let them slide by.

It doesn’t work like that. Just to make things clear, God loves everyone. But, those who don’t fear God or respect Him prioritize their sinfulness over living righteously before the Lord.

    • In their own eyes they flatter themselves too much to detect or hate their sin.
    • The words of their mouths are wicked and deceitful; they fail to act wisely or do good.
    • Even on their beds they plot evil; they commit themselves to a sinful course and do not reject what is wrong. Psalm 36:2-4

In those three sentences, we just read that sinfulness elevates our pride and causes our words to fail us. Plus, it helps us plan or plot sinful courses that guide our lives.

The Preservatives in the Message of God

Even though the Psalmist began the message from God pointing towards the wicked, he didn’t stay on that course. Wickedness affects individuals. God made His love available for everyone.

Your love, Lord, reaches to the heavens, your faithfulness to the skies. Your righteousness is like the highest mountains, your justice like the great deep. You, Lord, preserve both people and animals. Psalm 36:5-6

Many of the processed foods we eat contain preservatives. The ingredients listed on the packages might as well be written in Greek. I usually can’t pronounce them or know what they are.

The Psalmist listed God’s preservatives for people and animals with words we can say and understand. He has four preservatives: love, faithfulness, righteousness, and justice.

He said that God’s love reaches to the heavens. His message in that statement means the love of God extends beyond anything we could ever imagine.

What did the Psalmist mean when he said God’s faithfulness reaches to the skies? When you look at the sky, how far do you see? You don’t know. Just like God’s faithfulness, it’s limitless.

He also told us that God’s righteousness surpasses the strength and stability of the highest mountains. As far as God’s justice, He carries it out as fairly as the depth of the sea.

What a message of how much God wants us preserved for Himself. The Psalmist already told us how far God’s love reaches. He continued by letting us know that it will never fail us.

How priceless is your unfailing love, O God! Psalm 36:7

    The Availability From God

Close to where I live, a contractor built a half dozen two-story homes in a small cul de sac. He did a nice job on each house complete with landscaping. But nobody lived in them.

I came to find out that the contractor didn’t follow the sewage code, making the homes uninhabitable. God made sure that what the Psalmist wrote about is available to all who call on Him.

People take refuge in the shadow of your wings. They feast on the abundance of your house; you give them drink from your river of delights. For with you is the fountain of life; in your light we see light. Psalm 36:7-9

The message of this Psalm gets even better as the Psalmist asked God to continue to extend His love. He gave a double definition of those he wanted to receive God’s extended love.

Continue your love to those who know you, your righteousness to the upright in heart. Psalm 36:10

First, He defined them as those who know the Lord. He also described them as the upright in heart. This signifies a person with integrity, sincerity, and a life aligned with God’s will.

Therefore, the expectation indicated by the Psalmist covers those who align themselves with God. That happens only for those who accept Jesus into their lives.

Knowing Jesus leads us to a deeper understanding of God’s will. It gives us a more positive outlook on life and a strengthened relationship with God. Plus, we can trust Him through it all.

May the foot of the proud not come against me, nor the hand of the wicked drive me away. See how the evildoers lie fallen— thrown down, not able to rise! Psalm 36:11-12

The Message of God Includes Judgement

David often faced arrogant enemies wanting to kill him. Thus, David asked God to intervene. We often face the proud and arrogant; they will face God’s judgment if they continue on that path.

Every person still breathing can turn to the Lord, even that wicked person who continually torments you. Without repentance, though, they will suffer for all eternity.

For the Lord watches over the way of the righteous, but the way of the wicked leads to destruction. Psalm 1:6

Even with all the wickedness exhibited by unbelieving and ungodly people, no one deserves to go to hell. Yes, even the person you thought about when you read that last paragraph.

I get to go to heaven only because of the grace of God. He extended His grace to me when I believed and accepted what Jesus did for me at the cross. You will go to heaven if you believe.

A Vital Message from God in Revelation

God gave us a message in Revelation that He wants us to take to heart. It reveals two different eternal outcomes—one for the righteous and the other for the wicked.

Look! God’s dwelling place is now among the people, and he will dwell with them. They will be his people, and God himself will be with them and be their God. He will wipe every tear from their eyes. There will be no more death’ or mourning or crying or pain, for the old order of things has passed away. Revelation 21:3-4

The cowardly, the unbelieving, the vile, the murderers, the sexually immoral, those who practice magic arts, the idolaters and all liars—they will be consigned to the fiery lake of burning sulfur. This is the second death. Revelation 21:8

Maybe that person you thought of won’t receive the gospel from you. If that’s the case, then pray for them. Ask God to send someone who can effectively share the message of God with them.

Thank you, God for the time someone shared the message of salvation with us. Now, use us to share it with others.
