An adulterous woman consumes a man,
then wipes her mouth and says, “What’s wrong with that?”

-Proverbs 30:20, NLT

Some Cheaters “escape” the mundane issues of their lives into a fantasy world with their affair partner(s).

You can never compete with this as the adulterous relationship is based on a fantasy–and not the reality of paying bills or doing the laundry plus all those other issues marriage brings. The affair partner is a bit player to the Cheater’s fantasy.

In the end, the affair partner might distract your Cheater from their current problems; however, they create more problems in reality as we all know. It is not quite the “escape” some Cheaters thought it would be.

The good news is we, faithful spouses, do not have to stay around for the shine to come off the fantasy. We are free to divorce our Cheater (see Mt 19:9).

God gives us the mercy of divorce, I’m convinced, so that we are not saddled with all the carnage that comes with living the lie Cheaters live.
