An Atmosphere of Love on the New Earth
First Corinthians 13:8 tells us “Love never falls away. But whether prophecies, they will be rendered useless; or tongues, they will cease; or knowledge, it will be rendered useless.” This verse is about what is ahead of us, including New Jerusalem on the new earth.
Ezekiel 28:12-19 is a prophecy about an earthly king which also refers to Satan, the devil. It concludes “You have become a source of terror, and you will be no more forever.” Hatred, fighting, wars, anger, and other negative attitudes and actions have Satan as their source (John 8:44) and will be put away into the lake of fire.
A strong contrast to this is “God is love” (1 John 4:8, 16) and “we love because He first loved us” (v. 19). This is eternally true; “Love never falls away.” The entire new earth, including New Jerusalem, will be in an atmosphere of love.
