Bad leadership in Nigeria has been on for many years now. Many people believe the main problem of Nigeria, which is the most populous black nation in the world, has to do with how the leaders of the country have governed the nation selfishly for many years now.
What is the message of the Bible to these selfish, corrupt and bad leaders? You will find the answers in the remaining parts of this post.
Bad leadership in Nigeria: what is the way out?
Just before I go to the message of the Bible or the Word of God for these bad leaders, let me quickly write about the way out for Nigeria from bad leadership.
The way out are as follows:
A return to God
A return to God by every individual. Everyone is a leader in one way or the other whether you are in government or not. If there is going to be a change, then it should start with everyone.
A return to God is needed because God is the One who is able to effect the necessary change in anyone’s life. A return to God through Jesus Christ is necessary because He is the Way, the Truth and the Life.
If you are not born again, you should say a simple prayer confessing your sins to God and accepting Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior. You should ask God to use the blood of Jesus Christ to wash you from your sin.
The need for change at the family level
After a change is effected at the individual level, it is important to bring the change down to the family level too. Our families must return to God.
Many homes and families are not running again on God! Many homes and families are not united again. Our families must come back to God.
Spiritual and moral education are best taught at the family level so that children can learn the consequences of stealing and cheating at the family level. When they grow old and come into government or any leadership position, they won’t depart from what they have learned at a very young age.
Now let us go to what the message of God is to the bad leaders in Nigeria.
Message of God to bad leaders in Nigeria
To those evil set in leadership in Nigeria who are determined to kill this nation and who turned a good thing like the naira swap before the election into a punishing moment for innocent Nigerians, this is the Word of God for them:
Isaiah 8:9-11
[9]“Be shattered, O you people, and be broken in pieces! Give ear, all you from far countries. Gird yourselves, but be broken in pieces; Gird yourselves, but be broken in pieces. [10]Take counsel together, but it will come to nothing; Speak the word, but it will not stand, For God is with us.”
Message of God to innocent Nigerians
And to innocent Nigerians, this is the Word of God for you: Isaiah 8:11
[11]For the Lord spoke thus to me with a strong hand, and instructed me that I should not walk in the way of this people…”
Don’t walk in their evil ways. Do righteousness and do justice, the salvation of this country is around the corner. Amen (Isaiah 56)
