Blooming into New Life

Therefore, if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things have become new. — 2 Corinthians 5:17 (KJV)
I never really considered pink and purple to be my favorite colors, yet somehow they have gently woven themselves throughout my life, appearing in quiet, meaningful ways.
Spiritually, pink represents love, compassion, and the tenderness of God’s grace, while purple symbolizes royalty, spiritual depth, and the reminder that we are chosen and set apart in Him.
As we reflect on this Easter season, we are reminded of the ultimate act of love—Jesus’ sacrifice and His resurrection. Easter is not just about a moment in history; it is about the promise of new life. Just as Christ rose, we too are given the opportunity to rise—to shed the old and step into the new.
This season has been tough for many of us. There have been moments of uncertainty, stretching, and quiet struggles. Yet, like the flowers beginning to bloom, there is evidence that life is still pushing through.
Spring may still be wrestling with the cold, but it cannot stop what God has already ordained to grow.
I’ve always found peace in fresh flowers—the cutting, the arranging, the beauty of bringing something together with intention. Even in being cut, flowers still carry life and beauty. Isn’t that just like us? Even in seasons where we feel pruned or stretched, God is still creating something beautiful within us.
Though I’ve been away from gardening for some time, I can feel it calling me back. Maybe this Easter season is an invitation, not just to celebrate resurrection, but to personally experience it. To return to what brings life. To embrace the newness God is offering.
Just like those blooms, you are rising again.

Questions for Reflection:
1. What “old things” is God asking you to release in this season?
2. In what areas of your life do you sense God bringing new growth?
3. How can you embrace the new life that Easter represents on a personal level?
4. What brings peace and restoration to your soul that you may need to return to?
