BW#125 Pulling the Grace Card, part 1 - Denise Pass
Pulling the grace card heals racism.
When we choose to apply grace and forgiveness where an offense could have been, we are reconciled to one another.
Scripture: Ephesians 2:15-16
“He did this by ending the system of law with its commandments and regulations. He made peace between Jews and Gentiles by creating in himself one new people from the two groups. Together as one body, Christ reconciled both groups to God by means of his death on the cross, and our hostility toward each other was put to death.”
Pull the grace card instead of the race card.
Racism is more than skin deep. It is a spiritual matter, emanating from sins common to man.
Our skin color does not separate us—sin does.
The sins of pride, jealousy, covetousness and comparison are just a few. But the cross crushed hostility between races. We are one race united by the blood of Christ.
Dominion Over Sin, Not Man
God gave us dominion over principalities and creatures, but not over one another. Having our identity in Christ defines us more than any color ever could. When our identity is in Christ and not in our appearance, we can uplift others without fear of losing who we are.
Racism is real, but so is God’s grace.
When we forgive one another, we let grace define us more than race.
