Cheaters Exploiting Your Weakness - Divorce Minister

Public Service Announcement:

Cheaters are known to try and exploit you when you are most vulnerable.

This is why having a good divorce lawyer (and potentially a forensic accountant) is important. A marriage ending is not like breaking up in high school.

Real assets are in play.

Breaking a marriage covenant has legal and financial consequences.

Like so much cheaters do, they may try to exploit your desire to be nice to them as a way to take more than their just share. Your undeserving trust of them is their ticket to use and abuse you.

Remember:

As long as they have something you want–like reconciliation–they have power over you.

Simply stated: This power comes from their power to give you it or not.

Don’t give them that power.

Make peace with losing a cheater through divorce (e.g. Mt 19:9) or you may end up vulnerable to further abuse.

It is foolish to trust in the “good will” of a cheater. You need to see actions demonstrating their “good will” and not just words.

A wise person learns from getting played once and does not go back for seconds.

For those of us who did not learn the first or second times, be kind to yourselves. I don’t write this to condemn you. It is easy to fall prey to a cheater in this vulnerable time of infidelity discovery and discard.

This post is for the new people especially to learn not to leave themselves needlessly open to abuse in the dissolution of their marriage. Get professional legal help!
