Christ Magnified, Now & New Jerusalem

New Jerusalem will magnify Christ eternally in an unlimited way, yet His magnification should also be present today.

Even God’s Old Testament people had this longing:
Psalm 34:3, “Magnify Jehovah with me, and let us exalt His name together.”
Psalm 40:6, “May all those who seek You be glad and rejoice in You; may those who love Your salvation say continually, May Jehovah be magnified!”
Psalm 69:30, “I will praise the name of God with a song and will magnify Him with thanksgiving.”

In these verses seeking the Lord, praising the Lord, and thanking Him, alone and with others, are keys to magnifying Him. This praising and thanking needs the use of our human spirit, as Mary declared in Luke 1:46-47, “My soul magnifies the Lord, and my spirit has exulted in God my Savior.”

Through His human living, death, and resurrection, the Lord Jesus brought forth the church as His Body. Now corporately we are further enriched by Him (Eph. 3:8) to magnify Him before people and before spiritual beings, as declared in Ephesians 3:10, “now to the rulers and the authorities in the heavenlies the multifarious wisdom of God might be made known through the church.”

This is purely a glorious display of the Lord through us but with nothing of ourselves. Philippians 2:3, “Doing nothing by way of selfish ambition nor by way of vainglory.”

The magnification now through the church will be multiplied forever in New Jerusalem, the city “having the glory of God” (Rev. 21:11).
