Luke 12 vs 15 & 21 15 And he said unto them, Take heed, and beware of covetousness: for a man’s life consisteth not in the abundance of the things which he possesseth. 21 So is he that layeth up treasure for himself, and is not rich toward God.
- The Bible describes covetousness as having abundant wealth and not using it for godly purposes.
- If you put your hope or trust in your wealth to give you joy, peace, happiness, and healing, you are guilty of covetousness.
- If you are boosting what you can do with your money, you are guilty of covetousness.
- If you forget that God is the person who gives you prosperity, you are guilty of covetousness.
- If you are acquiring a different kind of possession in this world and you are not thinking of your salvation, you are guilty of covetousness.
- If you do not give glory to God for what you have, you are guilty of covetousness.
- The Bible describe a covetous person as rich fools.
- The Bible also says a covetous person will die suddenly.
- To avoid the sin of covetousness, the richer you are materially, the richer you should be spiritually.
- Which means you should use your riches for the kingdom of God
