Created to Worship
Psalm 39
You are created in the image of God, you, that’s you! I’m talking about you! If you are living, breathing, walking, talking, thinking, dreaming, and existing, you are that person! Our lives have a purpose, and it is valuable. You are valuable; the reason is that God created you.

The importance of human life means we deserve the care of others and God in crucial seasons. People are essential, but sometimes we don’t understand our true worth and get into things that hurt us and don’t testify to how much we are worth.
Our life is short, but we have every minute to glorify God and praise Him. As it says in Psalms 39: 4-5 ;
Show me, Lord, my life’s end and the number of my days; let me know how fleeting my life is.
You have made my days a mere handbreadth; the span of my years is as nothing before you.
Everyone is but a breath, even those who seem secure.Psalms 39:4-5
Jesus came to give us life and life to the full, abundant life!
I am the gate; whoever enters through me will be saved. They will come in and go out, and find pasture. The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full.

Jeffrey Seif says our lives are both fragile and short.[1] From being born in a womb to the many obstacles, we face in a short amount of time.[2]
“With rebukes You chasten one for iniquity and You consume like a moth what he finds pleasure in. Surely all humanity is but a vapor. Selah”

“Vapor” is figurative language used to speak about human life in the Bible.[3]
Yet you do not know what your life will be like tomorrow. For you are just a vapor that appears for a little while, and then vanishes away.
James 4:14 NASB
Our life is fragile and as short as a few breaths, yet we can’t forget the significance of our life. Wansbrough talks about how the writers of Psalms 39 were so confident in the care of God for individual life and that it went past this life to eternity.[4] Take a moment to know that God cares about your life and wants to give you eternal life through His Son, Jesus Christ. You will be saved when you confess that Jesus Christ is Lord and believe that Jesus was raised from the dead. (Romans 10:9-10)
You are created in the image of God. The Psalmist wrote and thought about the meaning of life deeply, knowing that there were downfalls, but they understood that God considered them and their lives to be important. We have the breath of God in us and are a constant reminder of the Creator-God’s greatness and majesty. That is why we can treat each other with respect and love.
Prayer (Sinner’s Prayer):
Lord Jesus, I want to commit (or re-commit) my life to You. I confess that You are my Lord, Jesus Christ. Jesus, I believe that You were raised from the dead. I confess my sins to You and ask You to be the Lord of my life. I know that I have hope and a future that You promise. You have abundant life for me for now and into eternity.
