What are the dangers of sin in the Bible?

The dangers of sin in the Bible shows the dangerous consequences of sin against God. It shows the negative effect of enjoying the pleasures of sin.

Righteousness or living right or living according to the will of God always yield positive results because the Bible says, “Righteousness exalts a nation.” But sin gives the opposite because that passage concluded with, “Sin is a reproach unto it.”

Dangers of sin: The story of Reuben

One singular act of sin turned the destiny of Reuben upside down. The Bible says, concerning his case, that the genealogy stopped being counted according to birthright! So sad. Read it below:

1 Chronicles 5:1

[1]Now the sons of Reuben the firstborn of Israel—he was indeed the firstborn, but because he defiled his father’s bed, his birthright was given to the sons of Joseph, the son of Israel, so that the genealogy is not listed according to the birthright;

He enjoyed sin and he faced the consequences. His birthright was given to Joseph. God’s mercy is strong and available but another truth is that there are also consequences for sinful living.
