What is Covetousness?
- Covetousness is the compulsive desire for material acquisition.
- Another word for covetousness is materialism.
- Covetousness is never being satisfied.
- Covetousness is acquiring what you do not need.
- Another word for covetousness is greed.

- Covetous people are selfish and deprive others for their benefit.
- Pride and arrogance are the twin brothers of covetousness.
- Covetousness is chasing the world and its ever changing, brands, inventions, products, labels, and so on.
- Covetousness is deriving joy in material things rather than spiritual things.
- Covetousness is the opposite of self-contentment.
- Covetous people will end up stealing money, as money is never enough for them to satisfy their desire.
- Covetous people are never satisfied
- Covetousness is owning or acquiring things you can never finish using.
- Covetousness is acquiring money you do not need.
- The spirit of covetousness and the spirit of madness are twin brothers, because covetous people acquire things that look insane.
- Covetousness is forgetting that you brought nothing to this world, and when you die, you take nothing out of this world.
- Covetousness is appropriating other people’s wages.
- Covetousness is not paying the salary of those who work for you and appropriating the money.

Covetousness in the Bible
- God warned in the Bible against covetousness.
- In Deuteronomy 28, God warned the Israelites not to forget Him when they had eaten and were satisfied.
- Jesus Christ also warned about being anxious about daily bread.
- Despite this, several Bible characters became victims of covetousness.
- The first sin in the Bible was caused by covetousness.
- When Adam and Eve ate the fruit God commanded them not to eat, it was a lack of contentment that was at play.
- This was Adam and Eve. God gave all power over plants and animals, yet they are not satisfied.
- The first case of murder in the Bible was caused by covetousness.
- When Brother Cain kept the best part of his produce and gave the lean part to God. It was covetousness that was at play.

How to Overcome Covetousness.
- Have self-control
- Be contempt.
- Take a glance at money and look away.
- Be wise enough to know that you can never catch us with the new trend.
- Do not be envious of your neighbour’s success.
- Appreciate God and thank him for the level you are now.
- Do not love money.
- Do not accept any gift that will compromise you.
- Love your neighbour as yourself
