Memorise: “And he found a new jawbone of an ass, and put forth his hands, and took it, and slew a thousand men therewith” (Judges 15:15)

Read: Judges 15:14-15

Pastor E. Adeboye

It is amazing how Samson was able to defeat 1000 enemies at a go. As soon as God empowers you, He provides you with the weapon to use. Every battle is handled by a different strategy. If you take a close look at instances the children of Israel had to fight against enemies, several approaches or strategies were adopted.

Judges 15:15 says, “And he found a new jawbone of an ass, and put forth his hand, and took it, and slew a thousand man therewith”. To fight against this set of Philistines, after the Spirit empowered him, God miraculously provided Samson the jawbone of an ass.

Combining the power of the Spirit with the weapon provided for that battle is what guarantees success. If Samson had rejected the jawbone, and looked for some other weapon, he would not have achieved the result he got.

Many of us fail because we do not combine both provisions. It is either we combine God’s power with our preferred but heaven-rejected weapon, or we combine Heaven’s approved weapon with our limited or even satanic power. He does not work that way.

Some leaders have been programmed to lead and operate according to set stereotypes. They believe what worked in a particular situation at a particular time will continue to be relevant for similar situations. This accounts for a high level of failure in ministry. Every church is faced with its peculiar challenges. If you do not take care to ask the Master Strategist the particular strategy or weapon to handle the issue at hand, you will be far from your goal.

Every problem has a definite solution. Every door has a key. As long as you keep using the wrong key, the door remains unaccessible.

A sister had a stubborn migraine that defied all medications and prayers. It persisted for so long. Eventually, her Pastor’s wife organized some like minded sisters to go and pray with her. The jawbone the Spirit gave the pastors’s wife was praise. They had a powerful praise session one night and that was the end of the problem.

Another brother had a terrible headache that defied both medications and prayers. Later, as a sister visited, all she did was praise God. The brother fell under the anointing and by the time he arose, the headache was gone. Some deliverance can be by praise and worship.

Have you cared to ask God for the specific step or weapon to apply to the situation surrounding you? For some, it could be an act of love towards the enemy.

For some it could be praise, worship, giving, obedience to God, prayers of agreement, a powerful decree, etc. Ask for the right weapon today.

Why many believers and ministers fail to overcome their challenges is because they try to keep God away from His business.
