Do All Roads Lead to Jesus?

“Jesus said to him, I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.” (John 14:6 ESV).

Have you seen the bumper stickers promoting religious coexistence? They want all religions to live in peace because the secular world believes that all religions are the same, or at least worship the same God. But our Christian faith teaches us something different. Let’s delve deeper to understand how to truly know God.

The disciples were eager to know God. In John 14:6, Jesus tells them that the only way to know God is through Him. Jesus says He is the only way to eternity with the Father. These words still hold true today. Many articles, blogs, and churches try to convince us that there are multiple paths to heaven. I read an article suggesting that following Christ’s example is enough to reach heaven. They could not be more wrong.

Knowing Ourselves First:

To know God, we must first understand who we are according to God’s standards. He created us and we belong to Him. We should be grateful to Him for everything.

Next, we acknowledge we are sinners who prioritize our own joy and happiness, making ourselves our own gods.

Finally, we need to realize that without God, we remain in spiritual bondage and cannot truly know Him. Once we accept these facts about ourselves, we can begin the journey of knowing God.

Knowing God:

Knowing the one true God of the Bible is not an overnight process. It takes time and starts with asking the Holy Spirit for help in deepening our knowledge of God.

Spending time with our Heavenly Father allows us to know Him better. We learn about Him through scripture, prayer, and surrounding ourselves with people who can help us grow.

Knowing God goes beyond acquiring facts; it involves walking through life with Him, constantly thinking of Him, talking to Him, and worshiping Him.

Knowing God means discovering the truth about Him and applying that truth to our lives.

Beware of false prophets who claim to know God but lead us away from the Biblical God. Believing in Jesus Christ is essential to come to the Father. Our faith requires us to live a godly life and confess with our mouths that Jesus is Lord. There is no other way. Jesus died and rose again to prove that He is the only God. He is The Way. Knowing Him is loving Him the way He loves us.

Question for Reflection:

Are there teachings you listen to that offer knowledge of God that differs from the truth of the Bible?

An Inspired Challenge for Wives This Father's Day - Today Can Be Different

Consider asking your husband how you can pray for him each day. (If the father of your children doesn’t live with you, for whatever reason, remember to put him on your prayer list too.) Your husband wants nothing more than to succeed, but he probably struggles with issues he’s afraid to admit, even to himself. He may feel insecure about being a dad, especially if he didn’t have the benefit of a good role model. Or maybe he feels more like an understudy because he’s “only” a stepdad.
