Psalm 73
- In Psalm 73 vs 3, David confessed that he was envious of the prosperity of the wicked.
- David lamented that the wicked seem to be succeeding more than the righteous.
- David lamented that the wicked are more prosperous than the children of God.
- David was envious of the wicked because they increase in riches, prosper, though they oppress the poor, and are ungodly.
- God, however, opened the eyes of David to see the end of the wicked, which was sudden destruction.
- David then realized he had committed an error by envying the prosperity of the wicked.
- The lesson is that do not follow or envy the prosperity of the wicked, allow God to prosper you.
