“And hope, if it had a scent, would smell like spring, like rain, like something new and alive.” ~Jennifer Rush

The first of May seems like an appropriate time to start writing to the world wide web again. I don’t know about your part of the world, but where I live, the river is rising due to a vast overflow of storms and drizzles (we are thankful). Spring is fickle as can be, but I find the inconsistency somewhat refreshing. Days before it was too warm; today the sun is a pale pearl behind soft cloud covering and I’m not complaining.

            Anyway.

Since you’re here, why don’t you stay a while? Tell me about your last seven months. I can briefly tell you about mine (since quite a bit happened and I just may have to break it up into multiple future posts): I continued my studies. I made friends and have continued to work and serve the people of this community that I’ve come to love so much. I moved cities and moved back. I’ve taken pictures of roses and lilies as they’ve bloomed and have organized my bookshelves and constructed budgets. I’ve been sick more times than I can count. I’ve gotten angry and asked for forgiveness. I’ve fallen in love with more people and continued in therapy and gotten inspired. I’ve learned how incredibly human Jesus was, how touchable He’s become, how present He is. I’m learning that He literally speaks His own name through the whooshing of ocean waves and mountain winds and the inhaling and exhaling of our very breath.

Our God is incredible. And I love Him so very much.

Dear readers, please fill me in. I want to know about you. I want to know how I can serve you better, whether it’s through continuing to write encouraging words or if you need prayer or if you just want to talk. (It’s also been more apparent how extremely unimpressive I am and there’s very little I can do but by the grace of God, I can listen and hopefully encourage. That is my gift and my strongest ability as of now. It would be such a privilege to use this to help you).

If anything…I’m still here. Consistently inconsistent.

Thank you for stopping by. Your presence is more appreciated than you could ever know.
