Therefore, shall a man leave his father and his mother, and shall cleave unto his wife; and they shall be one flesh.
What is polygamy? What are the evils of polygamy?
- Polygamy is the act of marrying many wives
- Polygamy is against the will of God of One man One wife
- Polygamy is the product of a lack of self-control
- Polygamy is the product of a lack of self-contentment
- Polygamy is the product of greed
- If one wife cannot satisfy you, 1000 wives will not
- Polygamists are not only the men married to several women
- If you are dating more than one person at a time, you are a baby polygamist
- If you have promised marriage to more than one person at a time, you are a potential polygamist
- Polygamy destroys marital peace
- Polygamy is an error
- Polygamy can be inherited. If your father or grandfather is a polygamist, you may end up becoming one
- Polygamy is a spirit; every man has the potential of becoming a polygamist
- Children of polygamists often end up being polygamists
- Polygamous homes are a breeding ground for rape, armed robbery, hired assassins, prostitution, ritual murders
- God is not the author of Polygamy
- Polygamy breeds Jealousy
- Polygamy is against the law of God
- Polygamy is against the Bible
- Polygamy is caused by the hardness of the heart
- Polygamy is the product of lusts
- Polygamy breeds strife
- Polygamous homes are often not peaceful
- Several broken homes can be traced to polygamy
- Polygamy steals the heart of the polygamist from God.
- Polygamous breeds strive that last for generations yet unborn
- Polygamists are prone to high blood pressure
- Polygamy breeds hypertension
- Polygamous marriage if not carefully handled causes sudden, tragic, unexplainable deaths and tragedies
- Polygamy breeds infighting, rivalry, and physical/spiritual attacks among the children and wives
- Another word for Polygamy is poly problems
- Polygamy is a self-inflicted problem
- Polygamy is the fuel for witchcraft
- Polygamy is the mother of witchcraft
- David was a polygamist in the Bible, but his son ended up raping his daughter
- Abraham was a polygamist in the Bible, but his wife ended up chasing the other wife away
- Solomon was a polygamist, but his many strange wives led him astray
1 Kings 11 vs 1-3
But king Solomon loved many strange women, together with the daughter of Pharaoh, women of the Moabites, Ammonites, Edomites, Zidonians, and Hittites:
2 Of the nations concerning which the Lord said unto the children of Israel, Ye shall not go in to them, neither shall they come in unto you: for surely they will turn away your heart after their gods: Solomon clave unto these in love.
3 And he had seven hundred wives, princesses, and three hundred concubines: and his wives turned away his heart.
- God loves Solomon, but when he became established, he poured his love on women instead of God.
- He had over one thousand women as wives and concubines, and they turned his heart after Idols
- Samson was a polygamist and ended up losing his eyes and life to his enemies
Prayer
- Strange women shall not lead me away from God in Jesus’ name.
11 Samuel 5 vs. 13 – And David took him more concubines and wives out of Jerusalem after he was come from Hebron: and there were yet sons and daughters born to David.
David was a polygamist, a lot of evils happened to David because of his polygamous life. For instance, his son raped his daughter.
Genesis 25 vs.6 – But Abraham gave gifts to the sons of the concubines which Abraham had; and while he was still living he sent them eastward, away from Isaac his son, to the country of the east.
- Even in the Bible, before Jesus came to fulfill the law, polygamy was associated with troubles.
- Well, it was true that Abraham was a polygamist, yet this affected his marital peace and happiness.
- He could not father his children under the same roof and had to send away the children of his concubines
Prayer
- Oh Lord, deliver me from the spirit of polygamy.
1 Samuel 1 vs. 2 – And he had two wives; the name of the one was Hannah, and the name of the other Peninnah: and Peninnah had children, but Hannah had no children.
- Eli was a Priest of the Lord and had two wives.
- Some Christians use cases like this as a Bible reference for practicing polygamy
- If you study the story of Eli and his wife carefully, you will discover that there was no peace in his house. As a matter of fact, the Bible described Peninnah the second wife of Eli as an adversary of Hannah, which means she was her enemy. Read 1 Samuel 1 vs. 6.
- If you want the peace of God and peace in your home, be contented with one wife.
Prayer
- Thou power of inherited polygamy, die in the name of Jesus
- Polygamous witchcraft of my father’s house, polygamous witchcraft of my mother’s house, die in the name of Jesus
- Every problem program by Polygamous witchcraft into my life, die in the name of Jesus
- Every battle programmed by Polygamous witchcraft into my life die in the name of Jesus
