For Unto Us

For unto us

a child is born

to us, a son was given.

With anticipation we

waited thousands of

years for our promised

messiah.

Our anticipated moment

had arrived. With the birth

of the one who was named

Jesus. Emmanuel, God with

us.

We needed a Savior. And we

call him wonderful, counselor,

mighty God, everlasting Father,

prince of peace.

With justice and righteousness

we put our hope in him.

Mary and Joseph. In your wildest

Dreams, did you know that the child

You carried, held, and nurtured would grow up

To save us all?
