God’s Living Composition of His People

As a sign the New Jerusalem indicates that God, through creation, incarnation, redemption, resurrection, ascension, and all His transforming and building work, will gain a living composition of His chosen, redeemed, regenerated, and transformed people to be His dwelling place and His counterpart to fully satisfy and express Him for eternity.*

New JerusalemGod in Christ Jesus went through the steps of incarnation, redeeming death, resurrection, and ascension. God in Christ in us accomplishes the steps of regeneration, transformation, and glorification. These steps in us correspond to the three parts of our human being.

First, regeneration, “that which is born of the Spirit is spirit” (John 3:6). Second, transformation of our soul, “be transformed by the renewing of the mind” (Rom. 12:2) the main part of our soul. This part of the process continues through our whole Christian life. Third, “when He comes to be glorified in His saints” (2 Thes. 1:10), to saturate our bodies with Himself as glory.

We need to be fully renewed from the old humanity to the new to match New Jerusalem and to be glorified so that the city can shine with the glory of God.
