Grace, the Supply and Glory, the Expression (5)

New JerusalemNew Jerusalem will be full of grace and full of glory. Grace is Christ coming to us and operating in us to be our supply for a proper Christian life. Glory is the expression of Christ in such a living by us that is one with Christ in us. Without grace to us there cannot be glory from us.

The verses below, Philippians 1:19-20, do not have the words grace or glory. But the “bountiful supply of the Spirit of Jesus Christ” is surely grace to us, and Christ being magnified is glory through us.

“I know that for me this will turn out to salvation through your petition and the bountiful supply of the Spirit of Jesus Christ, according to my earnest expectation and hope that in nothing I will be put to shame, but with all boldness, as always, even now Christ will be magnified in my body, whether through life or through death.”

How did Paul receive this bountiful supply of the Spirit? In Philippians 3:7 he tells us, “What things were gains to me, these I have counted as loss on account of Christ.” The more we count as loss, the more we gain the supply of grace.

In New Jerusalem, the river of water of life flowing from the throne is the bountiful supply of the Spirit as grace to the entire city. Because of this the city radiates the glory of God and magnifies Christ exceedingly.
