His decisions are for your own good

Hebrews 12:7:

"Endure hardship as discipline; God is treating you as his children. For what children are not disciplined by their father?"

Isaiah 66:13:

"As a mother comforts her child, so will I comfort you; and you will be comforted over Jerusalem."

Psalm 103:13:

"As a father has compassion on his children, so the LORD has compassion on those who fear him."

Isaiah 55:8-9:

"'For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways,' declares the LORD. 'As the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways and my thoughts than your thoughts.'"

Sometimes as Christians, we tend to point fingers at God when things go wrong in our lives. We blame Him for inconveniences and disappointments, forgetting that He has a greater plan beyond our understanding. We get frustrated when our prayers are not answered the way we want or when trials come our way. Instead of trusting in His wisdom and sovereignty, we question His goodness and faithfulness.

This behavior mirrors that of children who lash out at their parents when things do not go their way.

We should learn to accept God's decisions for us because He knows better than we do.

Unlike us, humans, God sees the bigger picture and understands what is best for our lives.

Just as a parent has more life experience than their children, having gone through the trials and tribulations of the world, God knows what we need even before we ask. He sees the paths ahead of us and guides us in the direction that will ultimately lead to our growth and well-being.

For example, imagine someone prays fervently for a promotion at work but does not get it. They may blame God for not fulfilling their request, failing to realize that perhaps God has something better in store for them or that they need more growth before taking on such responsibility.

Another scenario could involve someone facing a sudden illness or financial struggle. Instead of trusting God's provision and seeking His guidance, they may become bitter and resentful, blaming God for their misfortune. Yet, in these moments, God may be teaching them reliance on Him and deepening their faith.

When we trust in God's wisdom and sovereignty, we can find peace in knowing that His plans for us are good.

Just as a parent makes decisions for their children out of love and concern, God's decisions for us are motivated by His unfailing love and desire for our flourishing.

Even when we face challenges and uncertainties, we can rest assured that God is with us, guiding us every step of the way.

And, unlike a parent, who is also human and prone to making mistakes, God does not make mistakes. His wisdom and knowledge are beyond human comprehension, and His plans for us are perfect.

So, lean on His strength and wisdom, and allow Him to lead you through life's ups and downs. Keep your faith strong, and trust that God's love will carry you through every season of life.

I'm a Christian who sees the church as my second home. Not only were my parents the ones who raised me, but our church elders and members also played a significant role. However, despite attending church every Sunday, I still have some questions regarding my faith. As a writer, the articles I create serve as answers to the questions I've had and continue to have, and I hope they can serve a purpose for others who are searching for the same answers.
