    Hope…

We Christians for the most part have become far too cynical.

Yes, you say, “But look at the times we live in”. Politics, the economy and your favorite football team all are making things look really bad.

My reply is simply, “So what. Has it ever been any different?” Our Christian history has been of one hopeless situation after another. Yet throughout our history we can be encouraged with the knowledge that we are God’s chosen people and despite the conditions we live in, God and His people will prevail.

I understand things look pretty bad out there. I fill my car up with high priced gas too.

But there is still hope. Repeat after me, “There is still hope”. Even, for your losing football team.

We Christians are the people of hope. In fact hope is the one thing we Christian have to fight the bad times we live in. Why, because we are part of God’s glorious plan. We are created by God who has not given up. God will not fail or ever disappoint us.

Romans 5:2-5 …We exult in hope of the glory of God… and hope does not disappoint…

I often come in contact with people who have just given up. They have no hope, no dreams and no thoughts for their future.

Their world and the situations that they are enduring are just too much to handle. Good Christian brothers and sisters understand this. Nothing is hopeless when you give your lives to God. No problem is too big or too small for our Savior. Live in that hope, stand firmly on that foundation.

We are a resurrection people, a people of hope in a world that has lost hope. Our wrongs are forgiven, our guilt cleansed and the tomb of death is empty. Rejoice in that hope. Live a life fulfilled in the resurrection.
