Hope and Happiness
Matthew 5: 7
Those who show mercy to others are happy because God will show mercy to them
When I look back on this year so many things have changed, new experiences, friendships, and the realization that we have stepped into a new world. One where plans are changing every day.
I won’t pretend that sometimes it can be overwhelming, as we also lost loved ones these feelings can become so intense as you try to adjust. As with each step, it leaves space to reflect and take time investing or revisiting the choices we make.
These experiences make us re-examine our lives, it brings more time for prayer, reflection, and transparency in those next steps. Poring over Matthew 5:7. We see a chance of genuine happiness by following Jesus’ teachings about storing treasures in heaven instead of on this earthly plane. Not worrying about tomorrow, and trusting God as our source, comfort, and captain of our life.
What I have come to realize is that every moment in time is precious, when we truly step into a space of gratitude, for life, love, and peace. Embracing the birds in the sky, the sunlight touches our skin, the wind on our faces. Possessions have no use, our relationships with others change too.
For the first time in a long-time, I have found happiness, by listening and helping others and allowing myself to fully embrace the purpose and order of God’s plan for my life. It has not come like honey, it had its bitter moments, questions of “What Now father”.
God has always answered and shown up just in time. As we celebrate the wonder and amazing miracles of Jesus our saviour. Let’s open our hearts with joy and peace in this season, knowing where we find ourselves now will not last forever.
Matthew: 5 14-16
Jesus said “You are the light that gives light to the world. A City that is built on a hill cannot be hidden. And people don’t hide a light under a bowl. They put it on a lampstand so the light shines for all people in the house. In the same way, you should be a light for other people. Live so that they will see the good things you do and will praise your Father in heaven.”
I am still in awe of God’s instrumental hand in creating new moments. You may be in a place of “What Now Father”. Be encouraged in knowing that he understands, keep pressing forward, and know that you have not been forgotten.
Be encouraged and remember you are loved. At this time also use your light in a positive way, with technology being readily available, why not connect with someone who may be alone via WhatsApp or facetime. Let them know you have not been forgotten.
Until next time, may the grace of God, be over you and yours. May you be showered with the peace and protection of God’s strength.
