How do I grow spiritually as a christian?

Memorise: “Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who hath blessed us with all spiritual blessings in heavenly places in Christ” (Eph 1:3)

Read: Matthew 9:14-15

“Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who hath blessed us with all spiritual blessings in heavenly places in Christ” (Ephesians 1:3).Your spiritual height determines the power that is made available to you. The higher you soar, the more powerful you become. The higher you climb, the more your control of crowds, animals, and spirits. Every blessing you will ever need has been reserved in Christ and He is seated in the heavenly places. This simply tells us your blessings are not from earth but Heaven. The man who labours with all his focus and expectation from earth may be disappointed.

Also, your blessings are not in the hands of any man other than the Lord Jesus Christ Himself. The challenge now is: How can you access your blessings when spiritually seated together in the heavenly places in Christ, but physically living on earth?

First, you have to accept your spiritual positioning. As long as you do not accept that you are spiritually seated in Jesus Christ, you may never access your blessings in Christ. Also, your physical location must be harmonized with your spiritual placement.

This means, it takes a spiritual giant to access his blessings in the heavenly places. In other words, the more you grow in Christ, the more you are empowered to receive your benefits. This is why God places emphasis on faith, growth, obedience, and knowledge of Him. When you newly received Christ, you would observe that before you asked God for something, He gave it to you. Any little cry, He came around to handle the situation. But He knew that wouldn’t last.

The disciples enjoyed so many benefits while Jesus was physically present, yet the Lord told them a time would come when they would have to depend on their faith to have answers to their requests. He said they might have to ask in prayers and even back some with fasting before such answers would come. To access your blessings in Heavenly places, work on your faith level. Develop your faith through regular study of God’s Word, reviewing personal testimonies and listening to testimonies of others; listening to the messages of genuine servants of God, etc.

Also obey the Word. You cannot grow spiritually without obeying the Word of God. Your growth level is measured by the extent of your obedience to God’s Word. What is your attitude to His Word today? It is time to nurture your faith. If you have stopped growing, you have blocked your access to your blessings in the heavenlies.

Are you experiencing normal, abnormal, epileptic or supernatural growth? The type of growth you are witnessing is a product of spiritual diet, hunger and exercises.
