Events in our world today as it relates to the COVID-19 situation should naturally get us talking about how to get divine healing. As a Christian and a minister of the gospel of Jesus Christ, I have been asked by both Christians and non- Christians alike the question of how to get divine healing.
The simple message from this post to you today is that there’s divine healing. The Bible clearly preaches and teaches divine healing. The rest of this post will show you what divine healing is all about and how you can always get access to it.

A Bible passage on divine healing
Bible text: NKJV Bible. Psalms 107:17-20
Fools, because of their transgression, And because of their iniquities, were afflicted. Their soul abhorred all manner of food, And they drew near to the gates of death. Then they cried out to the Lord in their trouble, And He saved them out of their distresses. He sent His word and healed them, And delivered them from their destructions.
What is divine healing?
Divine healing simply means getting healed or recovering from sicknesses or diseases supernaturally or through the power of God almighty.
What’s the original plan of God for man?
The original plan of God for man is to live on the earth without sicknesses or any disease. He created a beautiful garden in Eden and made man and put a man inside this beautiful Garden. The man was designed to live the life of God which is devoid of sickness. Then something happened:
Genesis 3:6
So when the woman saw that the tree was good for food, that it was pleasant to the eyes, and a tree desirable to make one wise, she took of its fruit and ate. She also gave to her husband with her, and he ate.
Adam and Eve disobeyed God and they were driven out of this beautiful Garden into a world where sicknesses and other problems abound.
What’s the main cause of sicknesses?
Although there are some other factors that cause sicknesses, our Bible text shows us a major cause of sicknesses.
Psalm 107:17
“Fools, because of their transgression, And because of their iniquities, were afflicted.”
Sin is a major cause of sicknesses and affliction. After Jesus healed some people who were sick, He was always fond of telling them to go and sin no more.
What’s the cure for sin?
Since we have been able to establish that the main cause of sickness is sin, then we should understand that if we have to take sickness away, we need to deal with sin. Jesus’ blood, shed on the Cross at Calvary is the cure for sin. If sin is taking away, we can open up the way for any form of sickness to be divinely healed.
How do we receive divine healing?
Let’s look again at our Bible text again.
“Then they cried out to the Lord in their trouble, And He saved them out of their distresses. He sent His word and healed them, And delivered them from their destructions.”
The following describes how to receive divine healing:
- A cry unto the Lord is important. They cried unto the Lord in their distresses. A cry is a prayer unto the Lord for divine healing from sickness. When you pray, use the Word and promises of God to pray.
- When you pray right for divine healing with faith, God will send forth His Word to heal your diseases and sicknesses. God always react with solutions to prayers said with faith. God’s Word is a major tool that brings healing supernaturally.
Examples of people who received supernatural healing
The following are examples of people who received divine healing in the Bible:
- The centurion’s servant. He asked Jesus to speak the Word and his servant would be healed. His servant was healed immediately. (Luke 7:10).
- The woman with the issue of blood. She touched the hem of the garment of Jesus (Jesus is the Word of God) and she was divinely healed. (Luke 8: 43-47)
Sample Prayer for faith healing
If you have any sickness in your body at this moment, touch it ask God to heal you divinely. Pray this way: “Oh God, I join my faith to your Word and promises on divine healing and I ask you to touch this part of my body and give me healing in Jesus name. Amen.
