To overcome evil thoughts, we need good thoughts. Only God is good. Only God can activate good thoughts in us through the power of resurrection. When we are born again, we are enlightened to a new way of life that requires new thinking and feelings.

How to conquer your thought life?

To conquer, one needs a King. also, one needs to be a king. A believers King is Jesus. Is Jesus on your mind and heart all the time? A believer is called to be a king and priest (Revelation 1:6)

How to think?

Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things. (Philippians 4:8)

How should my mind be?

Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus: (Philippians 2:5)

How to have a mind like Jesus?

Blessed is the man that walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor standeth in the way of sinners, nor sitteth in the seat of the scornful. But his delight is in the law of the Lord; and in his law doth he meditate day and night. (Psalms1:1,2)

Obedience to God helps us overcome evil thoughts

God created us simple (Ecclesiastes 7:29). Children are simple (1 Corinthians 14:20). We are God’s children. A child is obedient to the Father’s every word. A child will not believe a stranger but God’s word. Spirit baptised children need to bear the fruit of the Spirit (Galatians 5:22,23). While we become like children in malice, we grow in understanding as men.

Adam lived peacefully every day by obeying God’s word. Sin entered when they obeyed Satan. Ananias and Sapphira died on the spot when they obeyed Satan. Similarly, Judas, Samson, Solomon all fell short when they strayed away from God’s word.
