How To Receive Jesus' Holy Spirit - Booty and Treasures fer All!

Do you wish to receive Jesus’ Holy Spirit? The baptism of the Holy Spirit is a gift from God for every believer. It is separate from salvation and gives us boldness, power, and a deeper walk with Christ. Here are clear, biblical steps for how to receive this gift.

    1. Be Sure of Your Salvation

First, confirm that you have trusted Jesus as your Lord and Savior. Romans 10:9 says, ‘If you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved.’ The Holy Spirit is given only to those who belong to Christ (John 14:16–17).

    2. Understand the Promise

Jesus promised the Holy Spirit as a gift to His followers. In Luke 11:13 He said, ‘How much more will your heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to those who ask Him!’ Acts 1:4–5 shows the disciples were told to wait for ‘the Promise of the Father.’

    3. Ask in Faith

The baptism of the Holy Spirit is received by asking and believing. Galatians 3:2 says we receive the Spirit ‘by believing what you heard.’ Pray with confidence, knowing this is God’s will for you.

    4. Receive and Yield

Acts 2:4 says, ‘They were all filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance.’ You speak, but the Spirit supplies the words. Begin to yield your tongue and voice to Him. Don’t wait for Him to take over—He inspires; you act in faith.

    5. Pray and Practice

Praying in tongues builds you up (1 Corinthians 14:4) and strengthens your faith (Jude 20). Make it a daily practice. The more you pray in the Spirit, the more sensitive you become to His leading.

    6. Walk in the Spirit

The Spirit is not only for prayer but for daily living. He empowers you to be a witness (Acts 1:8), produces fruit in your life (Galatians 5:22–23), and gives gifts for ministry (1 Corinthians 12:7–11).

Prayer to Receive the Holy Spirit

Lord Jesus, You are my Savior and Lord. I thank You for saving me. I now ask You to baptize me in the Holy Spirit. I receive Your promise by faith. Holy Spirit, fill me now. I yield my tongue to You and speak as You give utterance. Thank You for Your power, Your presence, and Your guidance in my life. Amen.

Do Christian Values Work in What We Call the "Real World"?

In his classic text, The Contemplative Pastor, Eugene Peterson wrote:As a pastor, I don’t like being viewed as nice but insignificant. I bristle when a high-energy executive leaves the place of worship with the comment, ‘This was wonderful, Pastor, but now we have to get back to the real world, don’t we?’ I had thought we were in the most-real world, the world revealed as God’s, a world believed to be invaded by God’s grace and turning on the pivot of Christ’s crucifixion and resurrection.
