It takes intentional learning to stay committed to your faith - Raising Zion

committed to your faith

Why do pre-trib children growing in the faith not believe Jesus is coming soon? Any time now. When asked, they say they believe. A deeper examination leaves them confused.

Every child in the Pentecostal faith grows up in a deeply conservative environment. It is excellent because you undergo correct teaching about the rapture. You stay committed to growing in a specific leading of the Holy Spirit.

They learn high doctrines and receive guidance from Spirit-filled apostles, teachers, pastors, etc. There is Sunday School (SS), Youth Meetings, special meetings, etc. Just like the believers in the early New Testament period gave their time daily to prayer and supplication (Acts 2:42-47).

Pentecostal children grow up in a community of like-minded believers in their early years. The problem begins when their worldly exposure is left un-moderated. They find themselves living in two separate worlds rather than one.

The ‘Why’ of being a Pentecostal is lost. They end up scrambling between religiosity and worldliness. They lose their relationship with Jesus due to Spirit-filled encounters at an early age. Then grapple with “modern” twists and pleasures. Lack of bible study and personal prayer life fills them with worldly cultures and tastes. Eventually, polluting the walk they once had with Christ.

Staying committed to your faith will bear three attitudes which will prepare you for the rapture

Who can go in the coming of the Lord?

What is their day-to-day lifestyle?

Here are a few scriptures to meditate on for your edification.

  1. Comfort one another about the hope they have when Jesus comes (1 Thessalonians 4:13-18)
  2. Edify one another about the walk as we approach the day of Christ (1 Thessalonians 5:9-11)
  3. Diligently seek God to build themselves up, loving His appearing (2 Timothy 4:7,8)

These are essential outcomes for those who are ardently waiting for the coming of the Lord.

May God prepare us all as we earnestly await His coming. Praise God, and Amen.
