Jesus Christ Manifested through Us Now, at His Return, and in New Jerusalem

God created man as His “project” to make an expression of Himself. He made Himself available as life, portrayed by the tree of life in the garden of Eden, so that man could fulfill this desire. However, man fell into sin and death and was shut out from the tree of life. Later God came in Jesus to redeem fallen man and again to make His life available.

First Peter 1:2 speaks of “the blood of Jesus Christ.” This is for our redemption. Verse 3 goes on, that God “has regenerated us unto a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead.” The following verses are about an New Jerusaleminheritance being kept for us, and our being guarded by the power of God through faith even in trials.

The end of verse 7 plus verse 8 say, “Jesus Christ, whom having not seen, you love; into whom though not seeing Him at present, yet believing, you exult with joy that is unspeakable and full of glory.” This exulting is our current manifestation of Jesus Christ with the glory that characterizes New Jerusalem.

Colossians 3:4 goes onward to the time of our Lord’s visible return to earth, “When Christ our life is manifested, then you also will be manifested with Him in glory.” We can manifest Him today with our joy, even with joy in sufferings, yet His manifestation through all of us will be much more at His coming and even greater eternally in New Jerusalem.
