KINTSUGI FROM BROKEN TO BEAUTIFUL - Jewell Utt

Pain from the past can hinder our ability to move forward in a positive way. Although it is hard to completely forget about situations that have harmed us, it is essential in order to thrive. Yet for many people, their default when things are not going well, is to blame past circumstances. This puts the focus on what other people have done, rather than on what we ourselves can do. When we allow regrets and hurt to haunt us and strangle our future, we are living from a place of insecurity. Deep down we feel inadequate, broken and abused.

Kintsugi – the art of restoration; to take something from broken to beautiful.

In Japanese culture, instead of tossing out a damaged ceramic, they repaired it. Using a lacquer mixed with gold, silver, or platinum, they infused the gaps with beauty. The resulting piece is more stunning than its original. The cracks and repairs enhanced the beauty.

But when he was still a great way off, his father saw him and had compassion, and ran and fell on his neck and kissed him. Luke 15:20

In the story of the prodigal son, we see that God treats us the same way. He reaches for us while we are broken and far away. He embraces us with love. And sets us to rights, to increase our beauty and allure. He shows us compassion so we will have compassion on others and point them to Him. He is the source of all hope and love.

Allow God to heal your broken spirit. Bring the pieces of your story to Him. New chapters of life await.

The LORD is near to the brokenhearted And saves those who are crushed in spirit. Psalm 34:18

He heals the brokenhearted And binds up their wounds. Psalm 147:3

Watching God Work is Amazing - Jewell Utt

Community Blend has come a long way in 2021. With the undergirding of our powerful prayer team, we struggled through the nonprofit paperwork, anxiously awaited confirmation and acceptance to become a 501c3, enlisted a Board of Directors, volunteers, gained financial support, secured a location, purchased all equipment needed to open, and held our first event. A success!
