Lent: Time of God’s Favor | HealthWealthVictory
We always think of Lent as a time of self-sacrifice and self-denial. But really, Lent is a time of God’s Favor. Here’s how.
20 So we are ambassadors for Christ; it is as though God were urging you through us, and in the name of Christ we appeal to you to be reconciled to God.
21 For our sake he made the sinless one a victim for sin, so that in him we might become the uprightness of God.
1 As his fellow-workers, we urge you not to let your acceptance of his grace come to nothing.
2 As he said, ‘At the time of my favour I have answered you; on the day of salvation I have helped you’; well, now is the real time of favour, now the day of salvation is here.
Jesus, Victim for Sin
Jesus, the One who knew no sin became a victim for Sin for us.
For my sake.
The Darling of Heaven, sacrificed as a Victim for in, so that I, a sinner, can become the uprightness of God.
What grace! What a gift. What favor.
So undeserved yet so much needed.
You know every sin I’ve committed in the secret place, Dearest. Things I’ve hidden from others.
Yes, You know and still You love me.
The Love of the Father
I don’t know where and what will I be without Your grace and favor, Dearest.
I remember a song by Darlene Zsech that I really like:
Nothing you can do can, make Him love you more. And nothing that You’ve done, can make Him close the door. Because of His great love, He gave His only Son. Everything was done so you would come. Come to the Father, though your gift is small. Broken hearts and broken lives, He will take them all. Because of His great love, He gave His only Son. Everything was done so you would come.
What love the Father has for us!
Time of Favor
Today is Ash Wednesday, the first day of Lent.
Lent is such a time of Favor.
A call for us to go back to the Father who loves us so much no matter what we’ve done, secret or blatant.
Repent and believe the Gospel.
Today, we are called to repent – change our ways – and believe in the Gospel: the good news that God loves us, that He gave His only beloved Son, made Him victim for Sin, so that we, all sinners could turn back to Him.
So repent then and believe in the Gospel.
As his fellow-workers, we urge you not to let your acceptance of his grace come to nothing.
Remember, Jesus became the Victim for sin for you and me so we can be the uprightness of God.
The Amplified Bible said it so clearly:
He made Christ who knew no sin to [judicially] be sin on our behalf, so that in Him we would become the righteousness of God [that is, we would be made acceptable to Him and placed in a right relationship with Him by His gracious lovingkindness]. 2 Corinthians 5:21 AMP
The Father wants us to be in a right relationship with Him.
Not just for Lent but for every day of your life.
Jesus made it possible by becoming a Victim for sin for us, even though He knew no sin. Just because of His gracious loving-kindness.
That’s how much He loves us.

Make this Lent, a time of Favor, a time for you to come to the Father who loves you with an everlasting love.
He waits for you.
- Repent, change your ways
- Believe in the Gospel the Good News of Salvation
- Receive Jesus, Victim for sin, so you can freely come to the Father.
Dear Lord,
Thank You for Your time of favor. Thank You for making Jesus the Victim for sin for me. I repent of my sin and believe in the Gospel: that You gave Your Son for me so that I may live for You. In Jesus’ Name. Amen.
