Mark 10 vs. 46-52:
We are still considering the story of Blind Bartimaeus and learning some lessons form it to enable us succeed in life, just as he successfully received the attention of Jesus in spite of hindrances that surrounded him
46 And they came to Jericho: and as he went out of Jericho with his disciples and a great number of people, blind Bartimaeus, the son of Timaeus, sat by the highway side begging.
47 And when he heard that it was Jesus of Nazareth, he began to cry out, and say, Jesus, thou son of David, have mercy on me.
48 And many charged him that he should hold his peace: but he cried the more a great deal, Thou son of David, have mercy on me.
Bartimaeus was desperate. He knew his miracle was at the corner and that once an opportunity is lost it may never be regained. It is not everyday that Jesus comes to Jericho, even it comes, there is no guarantee that there is a better opportunity to see him.
Blind Bartimaeus cried to Jesus for healing, but the crowd shouted him down. But the more he was shouted down the more he cried.
He never kept silent; he never gave up until he got attention. Blind Bartimaues knew the Kingdom of God suffereth violent and he took it violently. The lesson here is that we need to apply more spiritual and physical force to receive our demands.
