Life problems: I want to give up on everything

Memorise: “Behold, as the eyes of servants look unto the hand of their masters, and as the eyes of a maiden unto the hand of her mistress; so our eyes wait upon the LORD our God, until that he have mercy upon us” (Ps 123:2)Read: 2 Kings 13:14-19
A notable inventor once said he kept making attempts at his targeted breakthrough but could not arrive there until after about 6000 failures. To him, he did not fail but only learnt 6000 ways by which you cannot arrive at that invention. To arrive at your desired success, you may need to fail several times. It is allowed. In today’s reading, when Elisha was about to die, king Joash paid him a visit. This was to be a very crucial visit because it would determine his destiny. He asked the king to bring his bow and arrows. Then he put his hand upon the king’s and asked him to fire shots into the open air. He shot and the man made a prophetic declaration.Thereafter, he asked the king to hit the arrows against the floor. And he did it three times and stopped. Elisha was angry. He could not obtain total victory over his enemies because he could not sustain the hit!
Every problem has the required number of hits to bring it down. Every tree, depending on its size, structure, root network and age has varying hits from the axe before it will fall. The fainting hardly ever overcome problems. When they are so close to their miracle, they give up. That shall not be your portion in Jesus ‘Name.
Sometime ago, we wanted to dig a well behind our house at Ilesha (Nigeria). Unknown to us, the land sat on a huge rock. After deliberations, we contracted one Hausa man to do it. He dug for days without water. He returned my money and left. Another fellow came. He dug and could not find water so he asked me to keep my money and left.
This continued until one day, a man was engaged. He dug for one hour and hit water. This means if the last but one had endured for one more hour, he would have got to water level. For some people all they need do to get to their breakthrough is pray or persevere for one more year, month, week, day or hour. All efforts are lost when you give up. Don’t give up on anything you have laid your hands on this year. You will reach your goal.
Your prayer efforts are not in vain for each effort axes the tree of problem. Sustain the effort until the tree crumbles.
