Live Christ Today and in New Jerusalem 42-2-3

New JerusalemGalatians 2:20 describes the proper Christian, “I am crucified with Christ; and it is no longer I who live, but it is Christ who lives in me; and the life which I now live in the flesh I live in faith, the faith of the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself up for me.”

I, as on old man in Adam, fallen from God, lived apart from God. I, as a person in Christ and with Christ living in me, live as a new person one with Him. And I live not by my own effort but by the faith He has infused into me.

We also need to be those living with the Son as the embodiment of God (Col. 2:9). When you have the Father, you have the Son, and when you have the Son, you have the Father. The Son as the embodiment of God is life (Col. 3:4).…We live with the Father as the fountain, and we live with the Son as life and as the life supply, the tree of life (Rev. 22:2; 2:7). Even today in the church life, as indicated by Revelation 2:7, we can eat the tree of life.*

To live one with Christ, we need the proper nourishment. The New Testament presents the spiritual bread of life (John 6:32-33, 35) and the spiritual flesh for us to eat (John 6:53-57), the milk of the Word (1 Peter 2:2-3), and the tree of life (Rev. 2:7). This is today’s nourishment and also what will come to us in New Jerusalem.

An Inspired Challenge for Wives This Father's Day - Today Can Be Different

Consider asking your husband how you can pray for him each day. (If the father of your children doesn’t live with you, for whatever reason, remember to put him on your prayer list too.) Your husband wants nothing more than to succeed, but he probably struggles with issues he’s afraid to admit, even to himself. He may feel insecure about being a dad, especially if he didn’t have the benefit of a good role model. Or maybe he feels more like an understudy because he’s “only” a stepdad.
