Genesis 35 vs. 2 – Then Jacob said unto his household, and to all that were with him, Put away the strange gods that are among you, and be clean, and change your garments:
- Strange gods are gods of woods, stone, or any lifeless objects created with your hands.
- Strange gods are gods that are different from Jehovah God that you were dedicated to at birth.
- Strange gods are persons you now rely on for help, healing, support, and provision apart from Jehovah God.
What does it mean to change your garments?
- If your dressing has been exposing your privacy, you need to change your garments.
- If you have been murmuring and complaining against God because of unanswered prayers, you need to change your garments and start thanking God in faith for answered prayers.
- If you have been a bench warmer in church, you need to become a useful vessel of honour unto God.
- If you have been robbing God through unfaithfulness in tithes and offerings, you need to change your garments.
Prayers
- Strange gods in my life, I renounce you today in Jesus’ name.
- Garments of shame, reproach, and disgrace in my life, roast by fire in Jesus’ name.
- Garments of sin on me roast by fire in Jesus’ name.
- Garments of bareness roast by fire in Jesus’ name.
