Love Lies…

I LOVE YOU, I LOVE YOU, I LOVE YOU
Boy, love is a word we have over used in this world.
We love our cell phone, we love our favorite team and we even love the person we married sometimes.
1 John 4:7, 8 the apostle writes about what love really is.
“Beloved let us love one another for love is from God and everyone who loves is born of God and knows God.
The one who does not love does not know God, for God is love”.
So first and foremost love is a God thing Love is God and comes only from God. No love no God, no God no love.
- So what is love?
The dictionary tells us “Love is an attraction too or affection for a person, place or thing”.
But we use that same word “love” to describe our affection for peanut butter, the beach and grandma.
Most of the time we really don’t “love” our things that much.
Even if we really do love our new car that much, the car soon loses its newness and we love it a little less. Until we get another new car and we start the love all over again.
We might like it a lot, but love is a strong word.
We have got to be aware of how we use the word love and what loving really means.
There are 20 words for the concept of love in the Hebrew language of the Bible and that doesn’t cover all the intricacies of what love really means to us.
- There are so many misconceptions of what love is and could be.
- What and who do you love?
- Why do you love those people or things? Is your love really just a strong “like”?
- What do you love with a “God Love”?
Do you have questions about love, life and you place in all of it?
Are you having problems loving and being loved?
