One Reason Why Marriage is So Important

There are many reasons why people get married, but there is one reason why marriage is so important.

Some do it because they are madly in love with each other and cannot see life without them. While that’s inspiring, others do it for the money, status, or security of knowing that they won’t end up alone if they choose to settle now.

Then you have those who don’t even want to get married. No, a long-term couple who sees things as going fine “just the way things are” could potentially remove the concept of marriage altogether.

Oh, and let’s not forget about those who have suffered so harshly in their love life that they cannot even begin to wrap their heads around marriage… well, one that would last.

Listen, I get it. I would be lying to you if I said that I didn’t feel any of these things at some point in my love life. But once I understood the entire concept of marriage, everything changed. I realized that while many have their reasons for getting married, there’s only one REAL reason that matters! What’s interesting, though, is that not many even know why marriage is so important.

No, it’s not to get the tax breaks. It’s not to live “happily ever after”. Though, yes, those things are a part of the package! But seriously, girl, it stems back to GOD! God’s purpose, His plan, and HIS true reason as to why His children should get married. And once you understand that, then it becomes so crystal as to why marriage is so important!

So… what am I talking about? Well, let’s consider your love life for a sec. When you’re single, you pray to find someone, right? You lift up your heart’s desires to God to find a man who will become your “other half”. You know, cause “the two shall become one”.

Many women out there view marriage as endgame to their love life. But why?

To truly understand why marriage is so important, you’ve got to get deep into your understanding of who God is, and what He represents. In essence, God is love. He IS love. And so, that is deeply incorporated into this.

When God Throws a Little Bit of “All Things” in Your Life

I love Romans 8:28. Now, let me be honest…sometimes I don’t. When I am going through a dark time of loss or disappointment, and someone throws a sloppy coat of Romans 8:28 on my open wound, I just want to scream. There. I said it. Paul wrote: “And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, Read more...

What does it mean to have childlike faith?

What do you think of when you hear the word “childlike?”For many of us, “childlike” might bring to mind something immature, foolish, or naive. Yet when Jesus talked about childlike faith, he wasn’t asking us to be any of these things. He was inviting us into something pure, trusting, and real. This week, I got to help lead worship at a kids' camp. Watching the kids worship was such a beautiful reminder of what childlike faith truly looks like. These kids worshiped, prayed, and talked about God.
