Praising, Now and in New Jerusalem
New Jerusalem is a heavenly city, “the Jerusalem above” (Gal. 4:26) which “comes down out of heaven” (Rev. 21:2) to be on the new earth. Because its nature is heavenly, we can expect the praising in the heavens throughout Revelation to be a characteristic of New Jerusalem.
There are praises to God and the Lamb in Revelation 4, 5, 11, 14, 15, and 19. These praises come from the four living creatures, the twenty-four angelic elders, many angels, a great multitude, and “every creature which is in heaven and on the earth and under the earth and on the sea” (Rev. 5:13).
Here are some of the praises:
“You are worthy, our Lord and God, to receive the glory and the honor and the power, for You have created all things, and because of Your will they were, and were created.” Revelation 4:11
“Worthy is the Lamb who has been slain to receive the power and riches and wisdom and strength and honor and glory and blessing.” Revelation 5:12
“To Him who sits upon the throne and to the Lamb be the blessing and the honor and the glory and the might forever and ever.” Revelation 5:13
“Great and wonderful are Your works, Lord God the Almighty! Righteous and true are Your ways, O King of the nations!” Revelation 15:3
“Hallelujah! The salvation and the glory and the power are of our God.” Revelation 19:1
“Hallelujah! For the Lord our God the Almighty reigns.” Revelation 19:6
Here are words and music for singing the praise in Revelation 5:13. There are also links to the same in several other languages.
We should be active in speaking and singing praises now to get ready for New Jerusalem.
