Resolved: Start Small! - A Nighttime Prayer

“Do not despise these small beginnings, for the Lord rejoices to see the work begin.” – Zechariah 4:10 (NLT)

    Please Pray:

God, I often declare that you have “wonderfully made” me, then I spend all my time trying to make myself into someone different. This year, I resolve to make a small beginning that will help me enjoy who you’ve made me to be. Show me the ways you delight in the person I am, and remind me to grow my delight in you who have made me. Remind me that you do not despise any “small beginning” I might make this new year. Give me the courage to take small steps, relying on you to set the path and trusting that you will see me to a good end. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.

Her award-winning marketing communications describe traffic signal systems, roads, bridges, and water treatment plants. She’s written about Australian opals, Indian wedding wear, North American hockey memorabilia, and how to repair antique steam-powered farm equipment. She’s curious enough to explore almost anything, and grateful that wherever she goes, God is already there. She looks across woods and a marsh from her writing desk in small town Maine, just a few miles from her family’s third-generation wild blueberry farm.
