Scripture Challenge: 2 Chronicles — “If My People…”
I can’t even speak to this verse.
It speaks for itself.
Oh, that we would hear God’s heart as He cries out to us.
May we cry out to Him.
This is the verse that “chose me” as I read the book of 2 Chronicles. This is more than just a Scripture Challenge, this is a challenge to let the Words of a Holy God saturate us and compel us to pray and seek His face.
“I sought for the greatness and genius of America in her commodious harbors and her ample rivers – and it was not there . . . in her fertile fields and boundless forests and it was not there . . . in her rich mines and her vast world commerce – and it was not there . . . in her democratic Congress and her matchless Constitution – and it vas not there. Not until I went into the churches of America and heard her pulpits flame with righteousness did I understand the secret of her genius and power. America is great because she is good, and if America ever ceases to be good, she will cease to be great.”
note: This quote is attributed to, though disputed by some to be from Alexis-Charles-Henri Clérel de Tocqueville (29 July1805 – 16 April1859) who was a French political thinker and historian, most famous for his work Democracy in America.
As cold March winds blow outside my window, I am compelled to ask God to send a fresh wind of revival to our land.
As always, I am reminded our need is not for health, wealth or prosperity–we need GOD.
It has to start with you and I, friend. Won’t you join me?
