Shame Lost When Mercy Won - Denise Pass

Shame RX: Shame lost when mercy won.

1 Peter 2:24 (NIV)

“He himself bore our sins” in his body on the cross, so that we might die to sins and live for righteousness; “by his wounds you have been healed.”

In the shadow of the cross, it seemed there was no hope. To those who watched, it seemed like evil triumphed over good.

It seemed like defeat. The Savior of the world was nailed to the cross. In shame. He who was innocent was pierced for our transgressions. And those who crucified him lived.

Or so it seemed.

But shame lost that day when mercy won. When God laid down His life for sinful man, He redeemed all of mankind and was the perfect sacrifice to pay our sin debt that we never could afford.

As He was scourged by the very ones He saved, His wounds healed our sin and shame.

Sunday’s a coming, y’all. When we celebrate what His mercy bought for His people. Thank you, Jesus, for saving Your people completely.
