Signs A Woman Is Dangerously Under The Influence Of Men - Impacting Righteously

I am bringing attention to this, because it is a common, dangerous theme among many women. Anyone can fall into this trap: some women are ruled by idolatry of men. Much of what these women do, and how they think is driven by their obsession with men and relationships.

Understand that this kind of a woman is a very dangerous woman. She is a danger to herself, and also to those who are connected to her. This post is addressed to Christian women who know that idolatry is a sin, but any woman, regardless of her faith or lack thereof should be careful not to fall into this kind of trap.

Warning signs indicating a woman is under the influence of idolizing men:

1) She values relationship with men above obedience to, and relationship with God.

2) She will compromise her standards, stooping as low as necessary to meet a man where he is at. Sometimes, this includes degrading, reckless, or criminal and dangerous behaviors that she subjects herself to, in order to have and please a man.

3) She is tolerant of mistreatment from a man; what she cannot tolerate is being single.

4) She moves as quickly as possible on to a new man after each breakup; she is a serial dater.

5) She will put herself and others (including her own children) in harm’s way if this is how she can get or keep a man.

6) She is naive and gullible. Common sense, discernment, caution, and sometimes human decency go out the window. Danger is commonly lurking.

7) She may use family members, friends, or her children (especially sons) in a smothering, obsessive, and controlling way, as an emotional substitute, if another man is not available to fill her voids.

8) She may be needy with female “friends” when she is single, but once she gets a man in her life, she may completely disregard or become very distant to her “friends.”

9) She tends to have a problem with other women, including envying them, competing with them in an unhealthy way, sabotaging them and may have hatred for them. Some other women are perceived as threats, because she sees them as competition in her quest for men. She may even harm other women.

10) She may idolize and worship her pastor as God; or she may habitually join or be involved in a cult, due to being captivated by charismatic men. She may have a thing for authoritarian men in general.

Are you under the influence of a man/men?

If so, it is time to repent. We all make mistakes, and women can easily fall into this dangerous state, but all idols must be put away.

Do you know women who are under the influence of men?

If so, be very careful, possibly keep your distance, and pray for them. May God show us when we have idols in our hearts. May He purge us of such sin.

“Thou shall have none other gods before me.” Deuteronomy 5 :7

Mortify therefore your members which are upon the earth;  fornication, uncleanness, inordinate affection, evil concuspicense, and covetousness, which is idolatry.” -Colossians 3: 5

I must watch myself, that I do not fall unwittingly into idolatry. Idolatry can be subtle. It is not always as obvious as me bowing before an image or a statue.

If I fixate on plans, ideas, people, places, or things to the point where they become more important to me than God, then I am in idolatry. This is a sinful and dangerous place to be.
