The Beautiful Blue World

There once was a man who lived in a beautiful blue world. It was wonderful, yet it was also a hard, difficult place to live in at times. The man also knew it was a dangerous place to live…with both good and evil men. There was also the blackness called death. But this was his home and he loved his blue world. The man had a wife, and his life was good.

One day, the One who made the blue world sent a messenger to the man and his wife saying, “Though you love this blue world where you have been placed, this is not your home. It is only a temporary dwelling place. Though you, and the wife you have been given, are not worthy, you have been shown mercy and have been allowed to go beyond the blue world and be allowed entrance into the world called Light. You must first pass through the black darkness that you fear called death, but it will not have power to keep you forever anymore.”

The messenger continued, “No one can enter the world called Light without passing through the black darkness first. Those not granted entrance will be engulfed by the black darkness forever and shall never see the world called Light. This is where the One that made your blue world lives forever.” The man was at first very frightened. But, afterward, he knew it was all true. And he wondered about the blue world he had lived in for so long and now he knew it was only temporary.

After many days, the messenger was again sent to the man and his wife who said to them, “You have been shown great kindness along with all men who live in the blue world. For the Ruler of the world of Light also rules the dark blackness. He gives to all life, breath and all things. He has placed all men in the blue world and has determined the pre-appointed time in which they live and the place of their dwellings. He has done all this that they should seek Him, in the hope that they might grope for Him and find Him, though He is not far from each one…

But all men seek their own good and do not seek after Him. Thus, it was decreed that the Son of the Light would make safe passage for men to travel from the blue world to the world of the Light. No man deserves to be allowed passage, since all are rebels, but the Ruler of the Light will have mercy on whomever He will have mercy. As He has revealed to you the truth and allowed you passage, He allows others as He chooses.

And the man and his wife asked the messenger, “How can this be?” And he answered them and said, “Long ago, the Ruler of the World of Light sent His only Son to the blue world and the rebels killed His Son. But the Son of the King willingly gave up His life. He knew His purpose in coming was to give His life a ransom for many of the rebels who lived in the blue world. For without His coming, all were condemned already.”

Great sorrow filled the hearts of the man and his wife. They now knew that they were in fact rebels against the Ruler of the world of the Light. They also understood that they did not deserve safe passage through the dark blackness. And they could not fully grasp how the Son of the Light would give up His life for theirs.
