The blessing of a godly grandparent.

Good day beautiful people I pray that this post meets you and your loved ones well? It has been awhile but I am back and happy to share some of my Bible study observations with you all. As you can see from the title today we will be focusing on the older generation. I want to emphasise that irrespective of a persons demographic one still has the ability to impact society in a positive and meaningful way. Sadly in today’s day and age the elderly tend to be forgotten, but I want to remind the aged that you are still of great value, the wisdom you have can help shape a better tomorrow for future generations.

Today’s write up has been inspired by the life of Abraham, as well as other passages found in the Bible. What intrigues me about Abraham is that his faith impacted not only his son Isaac, but his grandson, Jacob. Jacob could attest to the fact that his grandfather trusted in God Almighty, which tells me that there is great power in word-of-mouth. It is so important for us to teach younger generations about the way of the Lord because if they don’t hear the truth how can they believe. Not only should we tell them about God we should demonstrate that we trust God by the way we behave/respond to life challenges. Ultimately we should obey God’s commands (live a lifestyle of obedience).

^^^Genesis 48:15 ~ “Then he blessed Joseph and said, “May the God before whom my grandfather Abraham and my father, Isaac, walked the God who has been my shepherd all my life, to this very day,”

Never underestimate the power of your actions. The decisions which you make can influence those under your authority, either positively or negatively.

Exodus 9:21-25 ~ “But those who paid no attention to the word of the Lord left theirs out in the open. Then the Lord said to Moses, “Lift your hand toward the sky so hail may fall on the people, the livestock, and all the plants throughout the land of Egypt.” So Moses lifted his staff toward the sky, and the Lord sent thunder and hail, and lightning flashed toward the earth. The Lord sent a tremendous hailstorm against all the land of Egypt. Never in all the history of Egypt had there been a storm like that, with such devastating hail and continuous lightning. It left all of Egypt in ruins. The hail struck down everything in the open field people, animals, and plants alike. Even the trees were destroyed.”

^^^Our disobedience (not paying attention to God’s Word) in many cases does not only affect us, but affects those around us, especially those under our care. It is so important for parents to influence their children in a godly fashion. This is the best way to be an excellent role model. Our choices do impact others.

Also we have an example of the impact of a grandparent’s faith in the life of her grandson in the New Testament. When Paul talks about Lois , the grandmother of Timothy.

2 Timothy 1:5 ~ I remember your genuine faith, for you share the faith that first filled your grandmother Lois and your mother, Eunice. And I know that same faith continues strong in you.

Well, I hope you enjoyed today’s post. I pray that you continue to stay safe and that you come to the realisation that your actions and your speech affect those around you, and you have the ability to influence people in a positive way. You can be used as a vessel by God to point people towards Him.

Deuteronomy 11:19 ~ Teach them to your children. Talk about them when you are at home and when you are on the road, when you are going to bed and when you are getting up.

Deuteronomy 6:6-7 ~ And you must commit yourselves wholeheartedly to these commands that I am giving you today. Repeat them again and again to your children. Talk about them when you are at home and when you are on the road, when you are going to bed and when you are getting up.

Simply a young woman striving to encourage women of God, whilst trying to spread the gospel to a mass majority of ladies all over the world. I am an armature with regards to blogs, but with more time and by God’s grace I shall improve lol. I want every single female on earth to know how much she is loved by God (John 3:16)! Please feel free to contact me via email for encouragement, advise or prayer (I am not a qualified counsellor, or a pastor, but I believe as a young woman I will be able to relate with SOME of the things other women around the world are going through). <<< As of Feb 2019 I completed my Counselling level 3 diploma Praise God 💃🏾. I intend to help others not in my own strength, but with the help of the Holy Spirit.
