How you speak matters.

    Good day, beautiful people.

I hope that this post finds you and your loved ones well?

We all know that communication is one of the major building blocks that contributes towards building a strong relationship. It helps us to connect better and helps us relate with those around us.

The best person we can learn from on how to be an excellent communicator is God. We can look up to Him for wisdom. When we study the life of Christ, we can see that He understood the importance of speaking with compassion. The Lord we serve is compassionate, gentle, patient, kind, forgiving, and loving.

Today’s post is inspired by John 12:49, NLT version.

John 12:49 ~ “I don’t speak on my own authority. The Father who sent me has commanded me what to say and how to say it.”

^^^ Christ followed the Father’s commands. He lived in obedience to the Father, and in all He did, He glorified God, including His speech. Christ is the perfect example we should follow.

1 Corinthians 11:1 ~ “And you should imitate me, just as I imitate Christ.”

As Christians, we should take time to think before we speak and we should also be mindful of ‘how’ we say things. Our tone and body language make a big difference when it comes to conversing with others and can affect how people receive the information we give them. We can have the right things to say, yet our approach at times can hinder a person from accepting our wisdom.

Proverbs 15:28 ~ “The heart of the godly thinks carefully before speaking; the mouth of the wicked overflows with evil words.”

A biblical case study :The woman caught in the act of adultery (John 8:1-11).

Jesus did not shy away from telling the truth. He acknowledged the woman’s sin and told her not to continue down such a pathway.  He did so in love.

John 8:10-11 ~ “Then Jesus stood up again and said to the woman, “Where are your accusers? Didn’t even one of them condemn you?” “No, Lord,” she said. And Jesus said, “Neither do I. Go and sin no more.”

I hope you could take away something productive from this post. Have a wonderful week. God bless.
