The Blessing of Sleep - A Nighttime Prayer

I will bless the Lord who guides me; even at night my heart instructs me. – Psalm 16:7 (NLT)

Please Pray:

Dear Triune God, Now I lay me down to sleep. This is a declaration of trust because I expect the highs and lows of the day to flood my thoughts and to keep me awake. Some with regrets. Some with shame. Some triggering my doubts of my enoughness. So I will also count the times I found you near to me. I will count all those times you poured your unfailing love upon me. I hope I grow sleepy counting those. Sing songs over me throughout the night. Do that amazing work of healing my body, fighting illness, organizing my memories, and teach me in my sleep. In the morning I will awake, recognizing my enoughness to do what I have to do. I trust I will find you near me throughout the day.  In Jesus’ Name I pray, Amen.
